The Salvation Army Anaheim Red Shield Community Center is a recreation center that serves the youth, family and senior population of Anaheim. It is a place where people young and old will have opportunities to learn and grow, to build dreams and friendships, and to find sanctuary and hope. From first-time swimmer to experienced athlete, the Anaheim Red Shield has something for you.
The 55,000 sq. ft. community center located on N. Loara St. and W. North St. serves the local community through a multifaceted program that includes a family services component, pool, gym, group exercise studio, game room, computer lab, kitchen, performing arts theatre and worship chapel, gathering spaces and more. The community center offers tutoring in math, reading and writing; computer education; recreational swim and swim lessons; and sports, including basketball leagues.

Jennifer comes from our Tustin Ranch location where she built up programming for young children and their families. With her passion for Christian education, she looks forward to serving the Anaheim community by connecting them to gym, pool, and inspiring programming. We want to celebrate God’s love for one another and provide a place where we enter healthy living in all phases of life.
As an employee of the Red Shield for the past 5 years, Missi is the Office Manager and took over the position from her cousin, who was in turn a 17 year veteran of The Salvation Army. Missi studied Opera and Music Education in school, has lived abroad in Spain, and is fluent in the Spanish dialect.
With a background in water polo, competitive swimming, and lifeguarding, Catie has always had a love for the water. During her five years at the Red Shield, she has grown to know many of the members, and especially enjoys working with seniors and being with her two sons as they learn to swim.
The Center holds a special place in Brenda’s heart as she attended the programs here growing up. She’s been employed with TSA for three years, working with children, at the Front Desk, and instructing classes. She’s taught cake decoration, Kids Canvas, and cooking classes. While working at The Red Shield, Brenda is also pursuing a degree in Human Services and a career in nursing.
Ruth has worked at the Anaheim Red Shield Center for 13 years, and being a mother inspired her to work with young children. Ruth has a professional education in ECE, and her ability to speak English and Spanish makes it easier for her to connect with families and youth in the community.
You'll see Michelle working in the gym and fitness areas as a personal trainer. Her specialties include working with seniors as a Senior Fitness Specialist. Michelle is also an endurance athlete and Ironman coach.
